Description

The Crescent Nebula is a well-known object in the constellation Cygnus, located 5000 light-years from Earth in a region of extensive star formation.  The Crescent is the result of powerful winds coming from WR136, a massive, luminous Wolf-Rayet star.  The Soap Bubble is a smaller planetary nebula expelled more gently from a dying sun-like star.  It was only discovered in 2008 and is still a faint, challenging target to image.

Data captured over 5 nights from May 10-14, 2022.
